She wonders while she pushes a cart through the supermarket or has her hair done, if the other women aren’t thinking, to some degree or other, the same thing: Here is the brilliant spirit, the woman of sorrows, who has consented to perform simple and essentially foolish task, to examine tomatoes, to sit under a hair dryer, because it is her art and her duty. (3.14) The Hours

HAVEIT (Alketa Sylaj, Hana Qena, Vesa Qena, Lola Sylaj) collective of 4 young women artists whose art vehemently rebels against power and, nationalism, LGBT discrimination and the oppression of women prevalent in Albanian society. They also try to illustrate their struggle with the day-to-day difficulties confronted by nearly every Kosovar. Often, their artistic performances are staged in Kosovo’s public spaces. Haveit works to go beyond moralistic rules and refuse to agree with the matters that are being served. The group was established in 2011, Pristina.
