“ConVersations” Video Installation

Entrapment and alienation within a technologically sophisticated environment. A society that transforms into a zoo containing people trapped in their individuality. While the doors are open, people live in an unreasonable immobility.
In “ConVersations” we meet couples of women who do not exchange one word. Couples “locked” in screens. Screens trapped in cages. Their voices turn into space, as untold thoughts in a state of disorder.
Mute improvisations and acting exercises of a mixed educational group of Thessaloniki Center for Theater Research were filmed to create the scenes of couples of women. Surveillance cameras record the relationship of a mother and a daughter who visits her in prison for the first time after 15 years. How can the material of the research process during the rehearsals of a theatrical play be used to produce a new artistic work through another media? Can there be a “conversation” between the arts?
